Tenuta Petrolo

Toscana

The "Petrolo Estate" is situated among the green olive groves, active vineyards and beautiful oak woods. A place full of charm and history. The estate has, as its landmark, the Tower of Galatrona. The Tower's foundation dates back to the Etruscan and Roman eras and the estate's best wines are named "Torrione" (big tower) and "Galatrona". The "Villa" overlooks the ancient Romanesque Pieve (parish church), which houses works by Giovanni della Robbia. All these places are within short walking distance from the main "Villa". With the 2001 vintage Petrolo began to concentrate its attention solely on the production of our two self-produced “crus”, the Torrione (Sangiovese) and the Galatrona (Merlot). Understanding that we are a small establishment, committed and devoted to a very limited production, like a specialized workshop for “highly artistic and artisanal” products or an art workshop in the style of the Renaissance, we, together with our grower and vintner Carlo Ferrini and Master-taster Giulio Gambelli, were convinced to follow this path.
