Norman Hardie

Canada

Norman Hardie’s winery is in the southwest corner of Prince Edward County , on a distinct soil type called Hillier limestone. It is predominately dark clay littered with pieces of calcerous limestone ranging in size from small pebbles to large stones. This soil type, almost identical to Burgundy ’s Cote d’Or, is the key to the unique qualities to Norman ’s wines. Because of Prince Edward County ’s climate and soil, it is perfectly suited to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Norman also aims for a restrained style of winemaking, with balance, finesse, and agebility.
